Vine star with 8.7 million followers makes ‘fag’ remark

Teen Vine star with a huge following of 8.7 million followers (Canadian superstar Justin Bieber only has 1.7 followers on Vine) made a short video where he yelled ‘fag’ at the camera after filming a clip from a public service announcement which debunks the myth that HIV is spread exclusively by gays.

Fellow internet star Tyler Oakley took to Twitter to denounce Grier and news has spread across the internet. Grier took the video down but not before Oakley retweeted the clip to his followers (saving it for the record). Previously Grier has made homophobic statements on Twitter, including asking for re-tweets if “you’re against gay marriage”.

With all those followers, Nash has been able to become a minor celebrity, making news appearances and being invited to award events such as the 2014 Billboard music awards. Grier also received $10,000 from MTV for making a Teen Wolf promotional Vine video, so his Vine enterprise has become a profitable activity for him.
